Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Most of you already know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Personally in my family I have never lost anyone to this horrible disease but through my extended family I know somone who had a loosing battle with it. I know most of us are too young to think about it but we can never be too sure! Why not check now and be aware of our bodies. Also make a donation to help find a cure. Torrid, is having a great promotion this month.....If you shop the Torrid BC collection (online and in stores) a potion of the proceeds will be going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. And what diva doesn't have something pink in her colset to sport to show support this month!?!

It's ALL about the Denim!

So as you all know it's back to school time which means DANCES! Yep I've already attended TWO back to school dances. Well since shorts were out of the question and I really didn't want to wear a dress I opted for jeans. In the past I've only worn the "boyfriend cut" jeans. Well when I went into my local Torrid the store manager suggested I try on the "skinny jeans"! I started laughing I'm like ok yeah right! BUT GUESS WHAT! I did I tried them on and guess what they looked freakin AWESOME on me! Here are some of the qualities that sold me on the jeans:

A. SO many different colors to choose from!

B. They were NOT low riders (I do not have the body type for that mess)

C. They came in array of lengths! Extra Short, Short, average, tall and EXTRA TALL!

D. They fit just right in all the right places!

Honestly, what sold me on the jeans was "C" the array of lengths. I am a shortie so whenever I buy something new I ALWAYS have to have it altered.....but I mean when the dance starts in 3 hours do you think I have time to alter my jeans?!? Ummm NO! SO I went with the extra short and they were prefect. It felt good to put on a pair of jeans that fit right and that I did not have to cut the bottom off for them NOT to drag the floor. All I can tell you divas is when you go shopping go with an open mind. If the store manager would have never told me just to try them honestly I NEVER would have.

My most FAVORITE recent purchase at Torrid that is going to keep me looking stylish this year is my secretary dress! I just LOVE the way it looks and feels on me. I feel so stylish when I wear it! I recently used it for a photo shoot but what I did to make it fun was I threw on a pair of my sparkly converse! It was so much fun and everyone got a kick out of the dress and my shoes. Also I like the dress because when it starts getting chilly outside I can throw on a cute sweater over it and it will not loose its hip stylish look. Plus it's perfect for those time when I don't know if I should dress up or down. It kinda meets me in the middle! Hope your summer was great! Catch you divas later!

New Favorite Summer Accessory

My new favorite summer accessory is my jean skort! I love it cause I feel comfortable in it! I don't have to worry about showing the world my underclothing because its really shorts but it looks like a cute mini jean skirt! Plus because its denium it goes with EVERYTHING! It can be good for during the day wear or goin out at night to a hip spot! Also Torrid has light colored ones and darker colored ones for every cute shirt you own! Once again like most of Torrid's clothing the length is just perfect! It's not to short but shows just enough leg! ;0)

Favorite part of back to school shopping

Yep you got it right back to school time!!!!!!!!! Yippe! I love going back to school!

It gives you a fresh start! Your able to make new friends and check out their styles and get some new ideas for yourself. If you are like me and have to wear a uniform don't be bumed! What I like to do it express my personailty in other forms.....such as cool jewelry, nail polish, purses, and bags! This way I stay in line with my school rules but still have a touch of me in it! Check out Torrid's jewelry! I always have people asking......OH where did you get that?!?

Also divas keep in mind that eventhough it is still kinda hot outside Fall is just around the corner. I usually like to start shopping early for my jackets. I recently purchased the denim jacket and it fits like a glove! Its not too long and has a worn look that we all love!

Every girl I know carries a purse so also check out Torrid's makeup items. Always look your best and bring them with you because you never know when a photo opt will pop up! I know people should not judge you by the way you look on the outside but I feel like if we each respect ourselves on the inside it will show on the outside!

I wish all of yall a happy and wonderful school year! Shoot for the stars and NEVER let anyone step on your dreams. My new motto for this year will be:

I can guarantee WHEREVER you live its HOT! This is why for my summer trend to showcase I've chosen..........shorts! Divas, if you have not tried on the basic shorts from Torrid you have no clue what your missing out on! I mean they are cool and hot at the same time! My favorite thing about them is the fall just right. They are not too long and not too short! I'm kinda short so usually when I find shorts I have to either wear them long or roll them up. But these are just right! Also they come in every hot summer color EVEN white! Yes, us larger size girls are allowed to wear white too ya know! LOL

Hey guys!

Sorry its been so long since I blogged but I had computer "issues"! Ugh! Anyway let me back track.....Torrid had a HUGE model search! I suggest entering! I had no clue I would EVER get picked! I was just walking around the Torrid store in Oakwood Mall when the clerk started following me around. At first I thought it was strange until she said hey are you in high school? And I was yes I sure am why? That is when she told me about the best thing ever that would change my life completely! I took home the application and filled it out and returned it back to the store. And guess what! I was the ONLY applicant from my hometown store! Can you believe this! I was shocked I was picked! Now that this whole thing has take off it has made me feel so good about myself. It was not all about the free cloths or make up it was about someone else thinking that the way I look was acceptable! Not everyone in this world is a size 0 but that does not mean the other people are not beautiful to look at. Now I have made so many friends from around the United States! Also I feel like I really belong a part of something because the representative from Torrid is always there for me. I have emailed her so much and she (Mrs Becky) is always there to help me. So its like one big Torrid family! I have included the handwritten card from Mrs Becky that came along with my first gift card. It ment alot to me that she took the time out to write every single one of us. Alot of people in this world just doesn't care anymore but with people like Mrs Becky, The Torrid Fashion panel Gals, and Everyone at the Torrid company and shops the world is becoming a better place.

Summer outings INSIDE!

Like ever true DIVA should have I ALWAYS have some drama with me! LOL In case you didn't guess it I love acting and I think a big part of wanting something is researching your compition! So what I like to do is go with friends or family to my local theatre productions. However, most of the other people that are acting like to do the same thing so if you were one dress Friday night to a show you very well can't wear it again the very next night! Also most of the shows require that you semi dress up! This is why Torrid's dresses work out perfect for me! I can wear a pair of heels with the dress to dress it up at night or during the day throw on a t-shirt under it with some tennis and look just as cute! Stars, Denim, and stripes!

So I'm alittle late with this posting however I must share with you divas what I wore for the 4th that was a BIG hit! I had a cute pair of blue city shorts (which were denim) with a cute red and white polka dot tank top. Well I picked up this cute denim jacket from Torrid just in case it got chilly outside and man did it tie my outfit all togther! I had the whole country girl look going on without looking babyish!

Introduction Please!!!

I was SOOOOOOOO excited about posting my first blog that I totally forgot to introduce myself to all you Torrid Lovers out there!

I'm your typical girlie girl! I love fun fashion. Expressing myself through my cloths is one way I love fashion. The problem with me is I go to private school YESSSSS which means the dreaded UNIFORMS! LOL. So whenever I have the chance to dress in regular street cloths I like to go all out. Alot of my friends say I like to dress up too much but hey I dress for myself to make myself happy and show myself......hey self I respect you! Also my passion in life is acting/singing. I love love love to participate in musicals. Believe it or not sometimes I will get some fashion tips from costumes from one of my plays. For instance I recently did a play called: "Back To The 80's" well I still wear some of my costumes pieces from that play today. I've learned how to take what was in style back then and make it work with my outfits today.

I was just shopping at Torrid one day when the sales girl asked me if I wanted to participate in a High School Model Search. This is how I found out about the contest! Never in my wildest dreams did I EVER think I was going to be picked! What a great opportunity this is going to be and what great friends I've made around the world already. Sizziling Summer Stylz for 2009!

Hey there fashion followers!

So as you all know this summer is starting out HOT!!! How can us cool chics stay COOL while looking hot!?! I've seen so many styles that are somkin but here are some of my faves! Check out the links to Torrid's page that I just adore!

1.) Cute light and breezy, strappy sun dress (I like to wear some short biker shorts under mine so I don't show everyone my business!), with a cute pair of BIG superstar sunglasses paired with some cute Ed Hardy tennis (for day/play) and cute contrasting heels (for night/serious)! Then to top the outfit off either go minimal jewelry with a hat or outrageous hair-do or go BIG with your jewelry! Cute cute cute cocktail rings or cute sets are really fun to add color and style to a cute sun dress.

2.) Jeans (and everyone knows jeans are so a no-no during the summer cause its so HOT) but why not pair up jeans and cute tank or tube top! Top off the outfit with a cute Fedora! ( i like to add a little flair to my fedora either a cute vintage broach or even just a small feather). Finish up the outfit with some cute sandals! Oh and don't forget to add some cute belts to bring in color!

3.) Now who isn't invited to a swim party or a trip to the beach during the summer! Hint to all you Torrid lovers.......Torrid bathing suites NEVER go out of style! I have a bathing suite I bought 2 years ago and every time I wear it I get compliments! Here is what I like to do! I like to pick a bathing suite and wear a pair of jean shorts or Capri to where ever I'm going then when I get ready to swim all I have to do is slip the shorts off! Plus I like to wear my hair up in a pony or in a 50's twist and wear BIG earrings cute bracelets and some cute sandals or booties!

This is just three of the styles that I like so far this summer! Also if you are having a rough time adding color to an outfit but don't like having too much jewelry on because of the heat try some of Torrid CUTE color clip in hair extensions! They are fun and cute!

Also for all these parties or on the go days a good BIG purse or bag is ALWAYS handy for taking makeup along for reapplications or just to throw a beach towel and bottle of water into! Always stay cool while looking HOT!

Oh and DON'T forget the sunglasses no fashion diva leaves home without them!

But you know what.......maybe its too hot for you to go out! No problem still look hot at home for yourself if nobody else!

No real diva is without excuse for not looking HOT this summer!
