I love fashion because...

I'm allowed to express myself through it. I feel the same way about acting and singing. Its a way I express myself. Also, I like to be able to be called a trend setter. Sometimes its just taking something old school and bringing it back in style.

I'm a busy girl!!! These are all the extracurricular activites I'm passionate about...

Theater, acting, singing, dancing, networking, dance, parties, hanging out with friends, multi-cultural club and student council

The fashion icon I most identify with is Madonna.

Because...

She started the 80's revolution of fashion. She paired contrasting colors and fabrics and made it work. Then the next thing she knew EVERYONE was dressing like her! I'm gonna dress you up in my love! LOL

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Most of you already know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Personally in my family I have never lost anyone to this horrible disease but through my extended family I know somone who had a loosing battle with it. I know most of us are too young to think about it but we can never be too sure! Why not check now and be aware of our bodies. Also make a donation to help find a cure. Torrid, is having a great promotion this month.....If you shop the Torrid BC collection (online and in stores) a potion of the proceeds will be going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. And what diva doesn't have something pink in her colset to sport to show support this month!?!

It's ALL about the Denim!

So as you all know it's back to school time which means DANCES! Yep I've already attended TWO back to school dances. Well since shorts were out of the question and I really didn't want to wear a dress I opted for jeans. In the past I've only worn the "boyfriend cut" jeans. Well when I went into my local Torrid the store manager suggested I try on the "skinny jeans"! I started laughing I'm like ok yeah right! BUT GUESS WHAT! I did I tried them on and guess what they looked freakin AWESOME on me! Here are some of the qualities that sold me on the jeans:

A. SO many different colors to choose from!

B. They were NOT low riders (I do not have the body type for that mess)

C. They came in array of lengths! Extra Short, Short, average, tall and EXTRA TALL!

D. They fit just right in all the right places!

Honestly, what sold me on the jeans was "C" the array of lengths. I am a shortie so whenever I buy something new I ALWAYS have to have it altered.....but I mean when the dance starts in 3 hours do you think I have time to alter my jeans?!? Ummm NO! SO I went with the extra short and they were prefect. It felt good to put on a pair of jeans that fit right and that I did not have to cut the bottom off for them NOT to drag the floor. All I can tell you divas is when you go shopping go with an open mind. If the store manager would have never told me just to try them honestly I NEVER would have.

My most FAVORITE recent purchase at Torrid that is going to keep me looking stylish this year is my secretary dress! I just LOVE the way it looks and feels on me. I feel so stylish when I wear it! I recently used it for a photo shoot but what I did to make it fun was I threw on a pair of my sparkly converse! It was so much fun and everyone got a kick out of the dress and my shoes. Also I like the dress because when it starts getting chilly outside I can throw on a cute sweater over it and it will not loose its hip stylish look. Plus it's perfect for those time when I don't know if I should dress up or down. It kinda meets me in the middle! Hope your summer was great! Catch you divas later!

New Favorite Summer Accessory

My new favorite summer accessory is my jean skort! I love it cause I feel comfortable in it! I don't have to worry about showing the world my underclothing because its really shorts but it looks like a cute mini jean skirt! Plus because its denium it goes with EVERYTHING! It can be good for during the day wear or goin out at night to a hip spot! Also Torrid has light colored ones and darker colored ones for every cute shirt you own! Once again like most of Torrid's clothing the length is just perfect! It's not to short but shows just enough leg! ;0)
